Andrew Temple Bio

Career Summary

I’ve been a digital marketer since 2014, helping clients get the most from their paid ads and cross-channel marketing strategies. Although I primarily analyse performance data to determine the best approach, I also think you need to use a bit of common sense and consider what might be influencing the numbers before settling on a final strategy.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with clients ranging from local businesses to global brands with £1M+ budgets, and managed campaigns in the UK, USA, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.

I currently work as a Digital Marketing Consultant for Mackerel Media, a digital agency in Edinburgh, where I mainly focus on helping clients in the tech, professional services, hospitality, and e-commerce industries.

Personal Projects

In my free time I like to work on my own online projects to improve my copywriting and SEO skills.

These currently include developing a website for local service providers and a SaaS app. And in the past, I grew a Facebook football page to over 10,000 followers.

I use AI tools to help me do things faster. But for important tasks, such as copywriting, web design, or anything else where high-quality is required, I prefer to take a more manual approach.

You can visit my projects page for more info on all of these.

What I Like To Do For Fun

Outside of work projects, I like to keep fit by going to the gym regularly to lift weights, listen to music, and play the guitar (badly, I might add). I used to play a lot of football and golf, but not so much these days.

I enjoy reading, both fiction and non-fiction. Some of my favourite authors are Kurt Vonnegut, HG Wells, and Henning Mankell, particularly his Wallander detective series.

Non-fiction subjects I enjoy include history, culture, and psychology. I’m particularly interested in how persuasion and influence techniques affect us all (often more so that we realise), especially in the age of social media and algorithmic content suggestions.

I also like sci-fi and action movies, especially Hong Kong kung fu films from the 1980s. So it’s not all highbrow stuff that makes your head hurt – unless of course you’re on the receiving end of a Jackie Chan flying kick!

And if I’m not doing any of that, then I’ll probably be watching the football.
